Pelican came away with a 3-2 victory against St ives this weekend , but the score line does not reflect the rhythm of the Match.
The game started evenly, with both teams creating chances early on. St ives were reworded a P-Flick after Jacbo being slide tackle by the keeper, our captain DJ stepped up and scored. Our youngest player Jake decided to take out a player with a reverse stick to the head creating an opportunity for st ives to score.
Unfortunately Pelican answer back with 2 goals putting st ives on the back foot. We were able to reset ourselves and won a short corner and Big Mike scored sending us into the second half even.
In the second half, St ives continued to apply pressure leaving Big Mike 1-1 with the keeper and unfortunately missed. Pelican scored in the last 10 minutes stealing the victory.
