St Ives HC are running a club fantasy hockey for the 2025/6 season (onwards)
Players, parents, etc all welcome
To sign up, just go to https://st-ives.fantasyclubhockey.co.uk/
The cost is £10, there is a prize for the winner
If you're a player or parent, just then go sign up a ticket on the event on teamo calendar
If you're not a member of a club - get in touch and we can arrange payment through another method :)
What are the team requirements?
There are no rules! You must have one goalie, and up to 5 defenders and midfielders and up to 4 forwards
How did you get the player values / I don’t like how much / little myself/someone else is valued at?
We took the statistical data from last year and applied a normal distribution (separately for the open
and female section), combined with some factors such as teams being promoted/demoted, and a
sprinkling of judgement calls from the fantasy hockey admin where needed (eg new players joining
the club)
There are undoubtedly some bargains there, including people we don’t know the abilities of, and
undoubtedly some people who have prices perhaps unreflectively higher than they’re likely to score
this year. The initial values are set and are not up for debate – No offense is intended to anyone in the pricings.
I (or someone else) plays in a different position to the one selected
Best judgement combined with input from players and captains was used – we are unable to
change it once the game is open because it may cause issues with peoples teams
How do you score points?
You get points for goals, assists, clean sheets, and lose points for cards and conceding lots of goals –
see https://st-ives.fantasyclubhockey.co.uk/rules for full list
Can I do transfers?
You get one free transfer per week, additional transfers will cost 4 points
Is there a captain?
Yes, a team has a captain who gets double points (negative or positive!)
There is a triple captain gameweek chip to use as well
Do player values change week to week?
Yes based on performance - the values are controlled by the game website and not by anyone at the
club.
What is the team formation?
Up to you! You can take up to 5 defenders 5 midfielders and 4 attackers (+1 Keeper!) in your team, and the formation adapts to that. There are no substitutes.
Which games count?
League games (ie those typically on Saturday) only. Including development games.
What about rearranged games?
If a game is rearranged to a slip date, the slip date will constitute an additional game week
If a game is arranged to midweek, it will count as the preceding Saturday – eg a game played on
Wednesday 5th November would count as Saturday 1st November. This may lead to double game
weeks – extra excitement.
What about doubling up?
A player doubling up gets points from both games, however they only get 1 point (a sub appearance) instead of 2 (starting lineup) for the second game
