Men’s 2nd XI vs Kettering 1s
The second half of the season began at home to Kettering who are 2nd in the league so we knew it would be a tough game. So keen to get the game going the team had the team talk without the captain…
The first half saw st Ives soaking up the pressure. Good saves from Jack in goal and great defending from George Cooke kept the score line 0-0 at half time.
The second half was a different game. Kettering scored two goals early in the half. Then steps up Jacob Weir to play a one touch pass from a ball coming in at chest height, into Nat Edwards who scores the volley of year!
St Ives piled on the pressure but couldn’t bring it back level. The game ends 1-3 to Kettering.
