This week St Ives came up against St Neots 2’s. We expected a tough game and we got it, quickly going 1-0 down in the first few minutes of play.
We were slow to pick up the pace but our overall performance was good. We were better when we passed the ball quickly, which created chances with a few shots on goal but at half time, we had held 1-0.
The second half St Neots raised their game and slotted in 2 goals to make it 3-0. Despite this, St Ives still battled on with multiple promising shots on goal.
In the last 15 minutes, St Ives truly shined. Desperately trying to get a goal back, so much so that Jack megged Tom Hingston to get into the D, Tom being left open legged and the sideline cheering but still the score remained 3-0.
Overall St Ives played well and we rewarded ourselves with a Christmas curry.
