Men’s 2nd XI
The new year brought the rearranged game against Long Sutton 1s. This was always going to be a tough but important fixture with both teams so close in the league.
Long Sutton started the game fast and hard and went 1-0 up very early and then a break away 2-0 after st ives we’re in control. Long Sutton were awarded a flick but sportingly put it off target after both teams agreed it was not the correct decision.
After half time LS scored but some good build up from George McCarter and Piers, give the ball to Rory Mooney who put it top bins on the reverse. However it was not enough as LS scores 2 more with Mike England Scoring from a penalty corner as a consolation goal.
Go again next week.
