Mens 3 vs Cambridge South 3

Mens 3 vs Cambridge South 3

Ives opening game of the season away at South was not a great opening to the season.

Expecting a tough game against a high finishing team last season, Ives were nonetheless confident that they could put a good performance in - which they did, for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, a goal was conceded through what could only be described as a mess in front of goal.

From there the wheels came off, as a physically dominant (or, violent) south took advantage of a shell-shocked Ives who were unable to match the physicality imposed on them in what is meant to be a non contact sport.

Half time arrived at 5-0 down, and no one remembered to bring the jelly babies from the bag to the team talk - rookie mistakes.

Only one person was able to match the physicality of the south players- yours truly, who was deemed to have been a bit too physical in taking out an attacker in the circle, a stroke awarded a goal conceded and DoD secured. Honourable mention to Isaac who came off the pitch, and threw up

The final score ended up at 9-0 with Jacob Parker being the standout player in the game for Ives
