Mens 3 vs Cambridge Nomads 2

With a late start both teams were itching to play some hockey. We started strong not giving the ball away. Pressing high we attacked strong and defended tight keeping to our attackers. We had a few breaks early on but unfortunately we couldn't get the ball in the goal

After Nomads countered, Ives conceded the first first short corners and a replay we were 1-0 down. We were left a little deflated after that.

Nevertheless we continued to press high and apply pressure to their play determined to equalize. Unfortunately our attacking breaks and unsuccessful short corners left us a little deflated and frustrated at half time.

A little words of encouragement we felt a little better going into the second half. South were on us from the start, pressing high and squeezing the ball player. Calming the ball and slowing the play allowed us to control the game better.

Play from both sides became increasingly scrappy as the second half proceeded and our ability to shut our mouths went out the window due to disagreement with umpiring decisions. Fair to say after that tempers were high.

Moments of actual hockey could be seen where we equalized thanks to Isaac giving us some new hope. Unfortunately we then switched off allowing Nomads to break and our tired legs couldn't match their pace allowing a pass across D, past Adam and into the goal.

We were left a little dumbfounded but we still felt confident then that blasted whistle went calling full time.
