Hockey report
St Ives dusted off their sticks to start the season with a game against Haverhill at home with a 11am pushback. The warm-up showed the ladies had their match heads on and were ready to open up the season strong.
Mel opens the scoring for St Ives in the 7th minute with a well-placed field goal, giving her team an early lead.
Lilly doubles the lead for St Ives in the 21st minute, finishing a great pass from Lauren in open play, marking the second field goal.
Lilly scores her second goal of the match in the 31st minute, again from open play, pushing St Ives ahead just before halftime.
Opening up the second half, Mel scores her second of the game, this time from a penalty flick after a foul in the circle. Followed up by another goal in the 55th minute where Mel completed her hat-trick with another field goal, demonstrating her dominance in attack.
To draw the game to a close, Lilly finishes the scoring for St Ives in the 66th minute,completing her hat-trick with a final field goal towards the end of the match.
