Game playing opportunities are hard to come by for the Junior section of SIHC and it was thus a great pleasure for St Ives to host their first Development day of the season
With teams visiting from City of Peterborough and Cambridge City, small 5 a side , 10 minute games were held with popup goals for the Under 8s, whilst 15 minute 6 or 7 a side quarter pitch games were held for the under 10s who all had a great time. Thanks for coming to our event COP and CCHC!
A big thanks to all of the helpers who umpired and chaperoned teams around for the day (Laura, Ben , Abby, Sarah , Hannah , Tracey , Oli , Kevin, Jack, Lee, and thanks to Megan and Mia for keeping the timings on track!)

Following the U8s and U10s, with no U12s teams able to visit, we held a Badgers game (so called because of the hair colour differences between the youth and the 'elder' players)
A line up of 5 adults and 9 juniors per team (4 adults on the pitch at a time) faced off in a beautiful sunset that soon became a foggy nightmare. The Green team went ahead early on thanks to Lilyanne. The bibs/white team then replied with an attack that saw a shot from Will saved by Mum Tracy, before Frankie lifted the ball over her to even things up. A second half goal from Jack Benham (attempting a pass) saw the green team win 2-1
Again, a big thanks to all the adults helping - Barry,Mo, Liz, Ben S, Ben B, Matt, Elaine, Stephen, Jack for playing, Oli for helping out with the umpiring, and a big thanks to Tracy for playing and organising the event somewhat last minute
Finally, a huge thank you to Junior Rep Nicola for organising the day and getting everything sorted - we couldn't do it without you and the juniors owe you a large drink!
